What are security audits?

To provide as much security as possible and protect users from damage due to buggy code or fraud, serious crypto projects have their code reviewed by independent parties. Such independent parties are for example companies that specialize in these services.

During a security audit the full code of a blockchain product is reviewed by experts, who then give a report on what they found. If they find flaws in the code, they report what needs to be changed in order to pass the audit.

Once the full code is approved the audit provider publishes a report that can be accessed by everyone and thereby can increase trust in the product.

Well known audit providers for example are Certik, Zokoyo, Solidity Finance, Peckshield and others.
