After the successful launch of the first two GATA collections on Stargaze (Colonial Cats & Voyager Cats) and Yield Gorillas on Teritori last year, GATA DAO is ready to embark on a new adventure within the Cosmos ecosystem and we are thrilled to tell you more about this exciting new opportunity in this article.
The newest collection of GATA DAO is called Apes in Games — Rise of Apelandia and will be launched on one of the newest additions to the IBC family, the Archway Network.
Why launch on Archway and not on an established chain?
There are several reasons for launching GATA DAO’s latest collection on Archway. However, one of the most important ones is definitely the reward system offered by Archway to developers of dapps.
The reward system consists of three layers:
- Gas rebates: Developers are receiving 50% of the gas fees spent on their applications instead of 100% of them going to stakers, like in regular POS chains.
- Devflation: Archway offers a new way of token inflation (Dev Inflation Tokens / DIT), where developers are receiving 25% of $ARCH’s inflation rewards, while 75% is designated for validators & delegators.
- Contract Premiums: Archway enables developers to define a custom fee, which will be paid alongside gas fees, for interacting with their applications and offer them a new way to monetize their contracts.
This unique feature offers developers new opportunities and perfectly aligns with the overall goal of GATA DAO’s new collection.

Apes in Games (AiG) is the beginning of an exciting journey and everyone minting them will be part of it: Not only can the NFTs of this collection be used as PFPs, but offer a bunch of other awesome utilities & perks:

Lore of AiG
Apes and Games — Rise of Apelandia takes place on a small ocean planet far away, which consists of 3 main archipelagos, which are inhabited by 3 different lineages of apes:
- Northern Archipelago, the territory of the Grey Apes
- Equatorian Archipelago, the home of the Golden Apes
- Southern Archipelago, the domain of the Blue Apes
The Apes lived a more or less peaceful life, mostly separated from each other. One day, however, three portals suddenly appeared in each of the lineages’ territories. Each of them opened a door to a separate new planet. With the news spreading fast within the Ape communities, they decided to start exploring these portals — each lineage on their own.
During those expeditions they soon realized that they were not the only species on the new planets. A force called X Corporation was already present at each of them, trying to extract as much value as possible out of them.
After discovering that they are not the only ones on the planets and the potential problems caused by these apish foes, the X Corporation tries to fight the Apes of Apelandia, so that they can continue to enrich themselves as they did before their arrival.
The fights were short and the apes hardly survived, but they made it back to Apelandia. However, with their return to Apelandia the X Corporation now knows where the beautiful home planet of our Apes ist located, and it is just a matter of time till they try to take control to exploit its resources, as they did with the other planets.
With the threat of the X Corporation looming over their beloved Apelandia, the three lineages made the decision to form an unprecedented alliance to defend their home planet against their joint enemy. Will they be successful and save their planet and their species from extinction?
What is the game of AiG going to look like? How will the mechanics work?
More detailed info about the game will be made available by us in time. What we can tell you so far is, that Apes in Games will offer you a play to earn (P2E) mechanism, which will make use of the reward mechanism of Archway, to fuel the earn part of the game.
Our goal is to create an enjoyable gaming experience with a sustainable economic baseline and not rely on a ponzi/pyramid scheme like most P2E games we saw emerging in the past 2 years.
Since good things take time and a lot of things are still under development, we will inform you about the details of the game mechanics and economic model in a later article. So stay tuned for more.
