DAOstack (GEN) now listed on Gatecoin
HONG KONG — 16 May 2018 — Gatecoin is the first centralized exchange to list DAOstack (GEN) on our exchange. You can now trade GEN with BTC and ETH.
Why we chose to work with DAOStack?
DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organizations) is a new form of human collaboration, made possible by blockchain technology. DAOs are extremely efficient in solving complex, impactful problems and thus are able to scale rapidly while maintaining agility and coherence. However, until now DAOs lacked specific critical components to be successfully deployed. The absence of a reliable and dependable decentralized governance system has prevented DAOs from being practical and feasible in the long run.
This is where DAOstack comes in. DAOstack is a blockchain based operating system that will bring DAOs to life through enabling the effective governance of self-organizing collectives. Ultimately, DAOStack will enable interoperability to organizations and companies, creating a new form of a virtual hub where contributors can collaborate around shared goals and values. Collaborations and business agreements can now be formed in fractions of the time and costs it took in the traditional model. To govern this system, DAOstack will provide a fully open source and modular governance framework with multiple product layers, from the solid backend to the user friendly frontend.
What are DAOStack(GEN) Tokens?
GEN is the native token of the DAOstack platform. Powering basic operations across the DAOstack ecosystem — such as promoting proposals and more generally attracting collective attention — will require the spending, staking or holding of GEN, thus continuing to contribute to its value. GEN tokens holder will have the right to vote on the development direction of the protocol itself.
GEN will also be distributed to contributors of value to the network (through the DAOstack framework itself), thus incentivizing wide engagement in development, promotion, early adoption and the freedom to experiment with an increasingly large number of governance protocols.
