Who are you? Are you pretending to be someone you are not? We have grown to adapt to the environment we live in, so much so that we end up forgetting where we came from. The idea of being more American to blend in with more of the cool kids has entered our young minds at some point. Humans are social creatures, thriving to be accepted. No one likes feeling lonely and isolated. This ongoing pandemic has magnified structural racism among all Asian Americans, making us scapegoats for starting COVID. Society’s ignorance has affected many Asian Americans making us question ourselves, is it ok to be Asian?
