Execution can make or break a company. Steve Jobs once said “To me, ideas are worth nothing unless executed. They are just a multiplier. Execution is worth millions.” — So who is doing all the execution?
Many people are unaware that what we call “the do-er class” is actually one of the largest economic sectors that has been almost entirely ignored by the smart enterprise wave. When we’ve asked doers like executive assistants about their process, a common refrain is that the way they do work today is the same way they did things twenty years ago. The nearly 3 million administrative assistants, 500,000 executive assistants, hundreds of thousands of operational and logistics managers are still making do with tools middle schoolers use to do their homework.
Google docs, excel, emails, pen and paper are still running our economy. The neglected space here isn’t just a missed opportunity in making this part of the workforce more productive, it paralyzes business operations when these critical team members leave.
Gatsby is building the first operating system for doers. A place where data is centralized, workflows can be completed in one tool, and teams have transparency into a business’ most important functions.
Our first workflow centers around one of the most painful yet critical business processes — events. Events are where professional relationships thrive, new business ideas form, and networks grow.
But if key details fall through the cracks, the company’s reputation suffers.
That’s why Gatsby has built an end-to-end product that takes care of the how — building invitation lists, collecting RSVPs, and delivering a first class experience to guests — so executors can focus on the who.
Looking ahead, the tools Gatsby has been building out in the background will finally revolutionize the way company operations are conducted and remove the headache from the day-to-day operations of executives and their teams of executors. Our forthcoming products will include a full suite of executive workflow tools including reminder, calendar and email management systems. Our products are built from the premise that doing work should feel as pleasant and intuitive as interacting with the sleekest and most responsive consumer apps.
