An Open Letter from GawkBox CEO, Chris Brownridge
Hi Everyone,
As we enter into 2018, I wanted to send a short reflection on our past 12 months to show just how far we have come in such a short amount of time:
- We started 2017 with nothing more than an ‘incredible mockup’ (Below) and finished the year with the amazing GawkBox platform.
- In Jan 2017, we were nameless. Actually, we were either in-crowd, wechypin or fanchips… unsurprisingly we didn’t renew the domain ownership for any of these.
- In early 2017 we had a grand total of zero users, yet we step into 2018 with close to 250k users. How cool is it that there’s already close to ¼ million users on GawkBox? All this is just the beginning… Wait to see what we have in store!
- 12 months ago we had zero Creators on the platform. now there are over 6,500 active on GawkBox!
- We kicked off 2017 in the “basement behind bars” and finished the year with an office move on the horizon in early 2018, to this spot…with this view from its’ ROOFTOP. We — quite literally — started from the bottom.
- This time last year, we had 5 team members — fast-forward 12 months and we have an incredible 14 people on the team!
It is because of each and every one of you that we have come so far in the past year; our great team of 14 in Seattle, our 6.5k+ Creators and our 250k+ users that make up the GawkBox community. For all of your hard work, flexibility and commitment, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
It’s impossible to predict exactly what this year will bring, but what I do know is that it will be a lot of fun. We are focused on bringing live streams to life. We’re going to be releasing products that enhance the live stream experience for every single person in the world by creating engaging and interactive experiences.
I’m delighted to have all 250k+ of you along for the ride.
