Installing your widgets into your broadcasting software is one of the most important steps to setting up your GawkBox profile, as they’re the main way to interact with your audience through GawkBox! We’ve created a video to walk you through the process of setting up your Widgets, or use our step-by-step guide in this article.

These are your GawkBox Widgets.

On the left, you’ll see your Leaderboard Widget. This is where your donations (and donators) are displayed. On the right, you can see your Alerts Widget. Your Alerts Widgets gives you a ping onstream whenever a member of your community donates to you through GawkBox.

Setting up your Alerts Widget

Navigate to your Alerts tab within your Creator Dashboard to access your Alerts page. Here, you can adjust the base color of your alerts, as well as the text color, to match the aesthetic of your content. You can also adjust the sound effect that occurs alongside your alerts. Set it to be as loud as you’d like, and don’t forget to save. After that, copy your Alerts Widget Link, and open up your broadcasting software of choice.

Installing your Alerts in your Broadcasting Software

We’ll be using OBS in this example, but the process of installing your widgets is similar on other broadcasting software. First, let’s add a BrowserSource to your stream. Select the “+”, and select “Browser Source”.

Next, paste your Alerts Widget link into the top line You may have to resize your alerts for them to display correctly. Luckily, we’ve got notifications on your alerts to let you know just what size to make them.

After that, you should see a red, outlined box in your broadcasting window. Select the “Test” button on your Alerts tab in your Creator Dashboard to see what your new Alert looks like. Place and resize it to your liking. And now…

Setting up your Leaderboard Widgets

Much like your Alerts Widget, your Leaderboard Widget is highly customizable. Once you’ve got your settings how you’d like them, select “Save”, and copy your Widget link.

Paste your link into a BrowserSource, just like your Alerts. Don’t forget to resize!

That’s it!

Your Widgets should be looking great on your stream. Go live and show them off!
