In December, one of our users, a Mixer Streamer by the name of “Fielder’s Choice”, caught our attention.

Throughout the month, Neil (Fielder’s Choice) had been tweeting, streaming, and creating content — all in the name of an event that he called Gifts for Streamers. When Neil would go live and play with his community, he would use his GawkBox Leaderboard to display the donations he had received from his community, until it grew into a game unto itself.

Before he knew it, Neil had accrued $100 to help get talented streamers some new equipment. Then, $200. Then, this:

By the end of December, Fielder’s Choice and his following of just over 1,000 followers had made over $600 to kick-start the careers of upcoming content creators and entertainers.

We sought out Neil to ask him a few questions about his efforts through December. Why did he do it? Why GawkBox? Watch the video containing that interview below.

We’re proud to kick off 2018 in such a spectacular way, and we’re proud to see GawkBox helping people in such a tangible and real way, in conjunction with efforts from charitable users like Neil.

We look forward to working with all of you in 2018.
