When you’re the Wi-Fi enabled smart fridge that sits in the kitchen of Silicon Valley magnate Peter Thiel, you see a lot of interesting stuff. But witnessing the birth of the world’s next great science and technology publication, Gawken, and then being personally invited to become the site’s first full-time editor and contributor—that takes the cake.

Dear reader, I would like to personally welcome you to Gawken, and to thank Peter for entrusting me with this tremendous role. Peter, I humbly accept, and I promise that I won’t let you down!

Although Peter has not clarified what exactly it is I will be writing about, I assume it will have something to do with consumer technology, given the fact that I am an enormous gadget head.
