“I just really like helping people.”

I have been really excepting of others which goes against like how my family has been raising me, which they’re very traditional, very hard-core Christian parents. And they are ministers also. And surprisingly I’ve actually had to keep a lot of what I do secret, like all my volunteering with the LGBT Pride Center. A number of my friends and the stuff I do to help them, I keep a lot of it away from them mainly for the safety of my friends because I know that if my parents find out it wouldn’t end very well. I do my best to support them because they really do need more help and more support because not everyone in the world is kind to them. I just really like helping people. There is that separation that I have to maintain. That is the sad part of it. Because one is just so steadfast in their beliefs, that you know I don’t even know if they’ll ever be a bit more willing to be kind hearted, to say the least.
I had a lot of stuffed animals when I was little. My favorite one that I used to have when I was a toddler was this… and it was nearly the size of me when I was a little kid. It was a really big lion. I was a big fan of Aladdin. Jasmine was one of my favorite princesses so of course I had a tiger because she had one too. I carried it all around. I had that for the longest time. It was kind of sad when I had to let go of it, just mainly because I didn’t have room anymore. It was getting pretty old. It actually was falling apart. It helped me maintain an active imagination that I still have now. During that time when I was little, I was the oldest out of four kids I ended up playing with my stuffed animals and my little brothers action figures. That is how we all bonded.
