5 reasons to visit New Zealand

New Zealand is not the easiest place to get to but it is definitely worth the effort. For a small country with a small population, this is a surprisingly diverse country with an incredible amount of things to do, see, and experience.
In this article we give you five reasons why New Zealand should somewhere near the top of your list of destinations to visit. We actually have a lot more than five, but we thought we’d hit you with the big ones.
Lord of the Rings
You may not be a huge fan of the Tolkein books (although it is almost impossible not to be) but you can’t deny that New Zealander Peter Jackson and his spectacular imaginings of the magical world of Hobbits and Wizards and Orcs has showcased the New Zealand wilderness at its absolute best. You may not want to retrace the steps of Frodo or try and imagine where the Elves lived, but you will be blown away by the dramatic landscapes of New Zealand’s many islands.
Fush & Chups
New Zealand used to be a British colony and still remains part of the Commonwealth. English is the official language and you will get a kick out of trying to emulate the best of New Zealand’s unique accent, but there is a lot of diversity here with the traditional Maori culture still strong and a lot of influence from the surrounding South Pacific islands.
Bungy?
If you are remotely inclined for getting outdoors and experiencing somewhere through adventure and activity then you will have plenty of options to choose from in New Zealand. Queenstown on the South Island is the home of winter sports in New Zealand, but whether you want to go hiking, sailing, kayaking, caving, or parachuting — it is all there for you. And bungy jumping. New Zealanders claim that they invented this one, so where better to throw yourself off a bridge and hope that you bounce back up?
Jurassic Park
You probably won’t see any dinosaurs in New Zealand, but this little corner of the world split off from the main land masses around 85 million years ago. This means that there is a huge amount of bird and plant species that you can find in New Zealand that are unique and ancient. Kiwis are probably the cutest which is why this small, flightless bird has been adopted as the country’s national symbol.
Camper van dreams
New Zealand is a relatively compact country and you can fly between the main cities, but you will get a lot more enjoyment by hiring a camper van and driving around to explore as you go. The road network is good, you can get a ferry between the islands, and you can stop wherever you fancy grabbing some food, sampling some wine, or admiring the scenery.
The traditional owners of New Zealand are the tribes known as the Maoris. Their traditional greeting is to gently rub noses. Start practising your nose-rubbing and get ready to dive in to the fascinating world that is New Zealand.
