Oklahoma State Senator Tom Woods responds to a question about the death of Nex Benedict, an LGBTQ+ nonbinary student.
“We’re a Republican state — a supermajority — in the House and the Senate.
“I represent a constituency that doesn’t want that filth in Oklahoma.
“We’re going to fight to keep that filth out of the state of Oklahoma.” [applause from some in the crowd]
“Because we are a Christian state.”
