This advertising design degree program was developed to enhance your abilities to strategically solve marketing problems in agencies and private corporations. The BA in advertising curriculum encourages you to think critically and evaluate advertising design and its effects on society. Evaluate methods of branding and campaign development using multiple platforms while gaining practical training under the direction of experienced faculty in Grand Canyon University’s (GCU) student-run advertising agency. The advertising design program culminates with an advanced design practicum in which you develop a personal portfolio using professional design projects.

GCU’s advertising agency is a teaching and learning service organization, run by students under the direction of instructors. The advertising agency fulfills professional design services for other academic units and student organizations, giving you the opportunity to learn how a professional agency is run while designing and collaborating with others. Campus students may work in the agency in person; online students may work remotely.

Advertising and Design Curriculum

In the advertising design degree program, you study consumerism and methods to buy and sell to the general public. Additionally, you review advanced design concepts and hone your skills in content creation and development, production, web design, digital advertising and media law. You have access to hands-on learning opportunities and learn the skills required of a creative specialist. You also complete a series of required field experience agency courses with GCU’s student-run advertising agency.
