Reponse is due on 02/10.

This week you don’t have to go far! The Katherine E. Nash Gallery is part of campus. It’s on the West Bank and located specifically in the Regis Center for Art (as part of the Fine Art department).

The exhibition titled What I think About presents several interesting artworks that examine memories, storytelling and visual relationships. There are three specific pieces that you need to examine and analyze:

  1. Thomas Rose: a series of 5 photographs with the titles Blurred Truth, In Favor of Dreams, In Other Words, It Will Enchant you, and Other Objects (2016 for all of them).
  2. Karen Wirth: Cloud Carin, artist book of photographs, 2016.
  3. Steven Lang: Sub/Merge 2016.

In your 300–500 word essay discuss the how photography can alter reality, question it or work as reflection/digestion mechanism. Do you see any of these notions in the work of these three artists?

Happy wandering!
