GDG Algiers and WTM Algiers Recap
GDG Algiers made a great kick off to the season with Android11 Meetup, a virtual event where Android enthusiasts gathered to share their passion for this technology and celebrate the newest release through a couple of talks and a workshop hosted by a group of amazing speakers.
To keep the tradition of hosting its most phenomenal event, GDG Algiers hosted the 2020 edition of DevFest and which, despite the fact that it was fully virtual, exceeded all expectations thanks to the incredibly presented talks and to the exciting challenges that ended with winners receiving their well-deserved prizes!
And because we can never share enough, our lovely designers organised an internal Design Bootcamp dedicated especially to the members, and in which they’ve learned all about the basics of fundamental design tools such as Adobe Illustrator.
The new heroes for this season were warmly welcomed via not just a welcome day, but a whole week consisting of introducing them to our Community Heroes and emphasizing on the power and beauty of learning, sharing and simply being part of the GDG Algiers and WTM Algiers family.
To add cherry on top of the cake, we have come with a lovely surprise for the community which is the official launch of our Discord server! It’s dedicated to everyone who’s interested in tech and wants to whatever it is with the rest of the server members or even to have fun, spontaneous discussions!
On the other hand, WTM Algiers had its own version of thriving as it organized Online Safety Week as an opening for the season. This virtual event’s objective was to spread awareness about online safety especially for women, and that is via different social media posts in addition to a very interesting panel discussion.
Given that one of its main goals is to get women to feel more confident in their educational and professional cursus, WTM Algiers organized an empowering #IamRemarkable session and made sure to emphasize on the incredible achievements made by women in tech by sharing a powerful quote made by each one of them.
Continuing with the excellence of women in the tech field, Women.AI is a virtual event hosted by WTM Algiers as a beautiful kick off of 2021. Its aim is to deliver an introduction to the mesmerizing field of Artificial Intelligence, made by some amazing young women who have proudly invested in it.
