About the exam

You can find all the info from the official website. Basically:

The certification exam is designed to test the skills required of a mobile web developer with 3 to 4 years of front-end web development experience, including Progressive Web Apps.

The exam procedure?

The exam is made up of two parts.

1. Practical exam, where you will have 4 hours to solve 17/18 coding tasks. You have to review and step through each challenge writing the code in Atom and testing it in Chrome.
2. An exit interview that takes more or less 10 minutes, where you will have to answer to some questions about the practical exam.

In between you have 20 minutes of break 😳😃. So it is highly recommend to choose a nice quite comfortable place to take your exam.

Getting ready

If you are a front-end developer you might have gone through most of the listed topics. But for the exam you have to code with no jQuery, no Angular … just in HTML, and mostly in JS and CSS. Suggestions?

• If you feel that you need a clean start follow the recommended materials on the official study guide and check out the courses listed on https://developers.google.com/training/web/ , otherwise go through them and practice well on topics you don’t feel at ease with.
• Debugging is important, get comfortable with using Chrome Dev Tool.
• In any case be ready to get your hands dirty on real coding examples as much as you can. Put together small code samples, debug them, and test them.

Once done?

It might take few days to know if you have succeeded or failed. When I did it, I waited around 40 days, but I think this is not the case right now. In each case, you will get notified by email. If you do not pass 🤞you can retake the exam up to a total of three attempts.
