Kotlin Everywhere Ilorin Event took place on Saturday July 27th, 2019 at the Malhub Banquet space, GRA Ilorin. An event that introduce developers to Kotlin Programming Language. Smile in the face of passionate developers as they take another journey into becoming a world class.

Kotlin /everywhere Ilorin was attended by over 80 passionate developers across the state with a ratio of 80/20 percent (males and females) most of which are beginners / intermediate.

There were 4 speakers and they all do justice to the topic they are given using their session to educate more about Kotlin and it’s history. More so, a deep dive lab session on Kotlin native for android development.

After the attendees check in at the registration desk, the program begins instantly with a welcome adress by the host, developer and GDG-Ilorin CO-Organizer, Ibraheem Zulkifli.

Amazing setting of the registration desk and distribution of swags made every attendees feel entitled and happy to attend Kotlin Everywhere Ilorin event.

Areous Ahmad in action

The first speaker of the event was Areous Ahmad, A Developer advocate at Kwarabuild, Community Builder and CO-Organizer @GDGIlorin. He gave a talk on the history of Kotlin and how to get started with it.

The second speaker was Olanrewaju Olayinka Ahmed, who is also a developer and CO-Organizer @GDGIlorin.

How does Kotlin help?

The third speaker who spoke remotely from Minna, Umar Saidu Auna, A developer and CO-Organizer @GDGMinna, he talks about level of Android development tips on Kotlin.

Around 1:30pm all attendees were served their lunch and drinks which serve as refreshments. After the lunch we had a photo session.

The event was awesome, educative and well equipped with code lab session of using Kotlin.
