Recap From GDG Ilorin Cloud Study Jam 2/2
On the 7th of September 2019 over 60 Developers, aspiring developers, students, entrepreneurs and none techies turn up for GDG Ilorin Cloud Study Jam 2/2. it is indeed another great day to remember in the history of Ilorin Tech Community as developers learn more on Google Cloud.
Cloud Study Jam is large, community-run developer events that take place around the globe focusing on community-building and exposure to Google’s new technologies. The events cover product areas such as Google Cloud Platform, G Suite and lot more. Cloud Study Jam are sponsored by google and aims at creating a space for developers and IT enthusiasts to get new ideas, learn from industry experts, engage with peers, and use Google Technologies and other developer tools.
Registration started around 9:30am and the event commenced exactly 10:20am where Capable gave a keynote speech.
He talk is on Recap of cloud study jam 1 — a tour on qwiklab and GCP benefits, he let new attendees get hands-on experience on how qwiklab works. He also discussed features of GCP and how they can undergoes practical session using qwiklab.

- Every attendees use their gmail account to access qwiklab for the hands-on practical experience.
- Feedback from all audience was that they need free credits to try out the training
The feedback was noted and quick reform was suggested by GDG organizers.
Ibrahim Zulikifli started by letting them understand the importance of cloud compared to shared hosting services and the benefit of cloud for startups.
He proceeded by logging in to qwiklabs then He launched creating Virtual machine lab session minutes
While proceeding, Participants practically learn how to create a VM, create an instances and also how to install Nginx Web server on their VM.
During the process, they learn what Zone and region is all about and Google cloud platform data centers were also explained.
He asked questions on cloud, VM, virtualization, instances also allocating of resources to VMs and they were able to answer those questions correctly.
After that, He talked about his experience while deploying a particular reactjs app on the cloud and also discussed what they should master if they really want to become a cloud engineer.
It was really an engaging and amazing session, full of fun and indepth learning experience 🙂
