Actions On Google — Built Your own assistant (Part-II)

Creating something for the community makes you privileged about sharing your knowledge. Creations and Curiosity lead to new innovations and every innovation contributes something new to the community and helps people to get their things simpler. Actions On Google, an action on assistant just made a simpler way to search things as well as showcasing your stuff. Not only just to set your alarm clock and arranging your phone calls but to brandish your products and manifesting the things created by you.

Visit https://console.actions.google.com you will find an overview to arrange your things.

Invocation

You will find an option of Invocation, that helps you to invoke the project that you developed in dialog flow. Hereby, the display name shows the name of the project by which it is going to invoke. Example- Hey Google, talk to Unsaved drafts. Here, Unsaved Drafts is my project name. Afterward, you can more customize your assistant by choosing the Google assistant voice according to your wish.

Note- Choosing a unique name for invoking your actions is necessary for every action. Do not forget to save after editing or creating anything.

Build

Color- this makes you choose your own color to display in the background of your action’s card. Contrasting a lighter color or your choice of color could make your action card more interactive.

Typography- It is all about fonts to looks more interactive.

The background image that more customizes your actions’ background.

Simulator helps you to test the actions you created. So that you can check your action’s fall back. Also one could look at how are his/her actions going to appear on screens like phones, Speakers(Google home) and smart display when someone invokes it. Thus, debugging could be easier.

Directory information

Description- Add-on, a short note about your product or action. A short description — the one for brief description that conveys about your actions in just a few words, kind of tagline. While the full descriptions state the actions briefly but more strongly what you actually want to project in this action.

Sample Invocations are the phrases used to invoke your action.

Here, comes the best part that projects your actions an identity that is a LOGO. A large banner image would appear as a cover photo and a small logo will be illustrated as your profile picture like when you look at facebook profile.

Contact Details- It specifies your identity as the creator. For accessing more details, it will take your email accounts to detail.

Privacy and consent are the terms of service and the conditions to a protocol that does not affect any user’s privacy.

Additional Information-

1. The category is just that which describes your actions.

2. If in case your action uses transactions API for physical goods while selling your products.

3. The content policy just to know that your actions are targeting for families and not promoting any kind of tobacco and alcohol products. So that it could target the definite age group audience as well.

Location Targeting –

Lets your actions triggered by the country as per your choice.

Surface capabilities will help you to invoke it from different devices.

Advance level- account linking and brand verification (get verified by Google) like Instagram does.
