Call for Speakers

Every year we have the annual Google Developer Festival where Google Developer Groups around the world host local tech conferences to fit the needs and interests of the local developer communities. The goal of this festival is to build together and innovate on Google’s developer tools.

This year’s devfest Nairobi will be held physically from November 4th to 5th in USIU(United States International University Africa). The sessions will be inclusive and diverse from the speaker level to the type of sessions submitted. First-time speakers and experienced speakers are all encouraged to apply.

Sessions for all levels from beginner, to intermediate, and expert will be evaluated. Session topics range from:

  • Product and Project Management
  • Community Management
  • Android
  • Web
  • Security
  • IoT
  • Cloud
  • DevOps
  • Robotics
  • AI/ML/Data Science
  • Google Assistant
  • AR/VR
  • Technical writing
  • Design
  • System design and architecture

We are also open to other suggestions of topics that you would like to speak on.

Key Details

The sessions can be presentations, workshops, or lightning talks. The maximum time allocated to presentations or workshops will be 30 minutes while lightning talks will be 15 minutes, subject to change.

There will be no follow-up interviews for the speakers, as you fill in the form be as descriptive as you can include the title, why the topic, target audience, and key takeaways from your session.

All applicants will receive feedback beforehand if their talks are accepted/ rejected and the next steps.

How to Apply

You can apply to speak from now till 15th October at 12:00 am GMT + 3. Expect a response on or before 20th October.
