Two years back, I was selected as a Manager & Content Writer at Developer Student Club VIT (previously known as Google Developers Group VIT). Little did I know that it is going to be one of the best things that could happen to me during my college journey. I have levelled up in a lot of domains be it technical, management, public interaction or personality development. I have a lot to share but that is something for another day. In this blog, I will cover the process of our recruitments and a few tips alongside.

Firstly, Who are we?

Developer Student Clubs VIT, powered by Google Developers, is a non-profit community that aims to inspire young and intelligent minds in the field of technology and provides a platform to learn, develop and innovate. The designers, developers and managers work together and carry out really effective executions and this collaboration helps them to grow in every aspect of life.

I will start by sharing what we at DSC VIT has worked on over the span of 1 year.

  1. We have worked on more than 18 projects over the span of 12 months. Hades, an event management application developed by us was used at several events nationally.
  2. We worked with Vellore Police Department to create an app which helped them in conducting Lok Sabha elections, smoothly. The app was named the second-best project at DSC India Summit.
  3. We have conducted more than 20 weekly sessions. These sessions aim to promote learning by working on projects.
  4. DSC VIT successfully conducted VIT’s only Women-Centric Hackathon, Women Techies. We are really proud of this 💪. We also conducted #Cloudfest, a 6-hour workshop on Introduction to Google Cloud.
  5. We organised DevJams, a hackathon which was attended by over 250 participants and had a cash prize bracket of 1.8 Lakhs, one of the largest, a college hack has ever seen.

The list is long and I can keep going but I will directly get to the point on how you can prepare yourself for our recruitments.
