3 I/O Extended Events, 2 Great Months, 1 Awesome Community ❤

Today marks the end of the 2 month long roadshow for I/O Extended conducted by GDG Cebu. I/O Extended Cebu last July 21st, I/O Extended Dumaguete last July 28th and I/O Extended Tacloban last August 4th.

As this year’s I/O was more focused on creating an avenue to cater developers and tech enthusiasts on latest updates and tips on different topics used on their work, GDG Cebu is happy to have reached a quality audience of more than 1000 people in the duration of the roadshow.

Speakers from across the nation as well as Google Developer Experts were flown to share their expertise on Android, Actions of Google (Google Home and DialogFlow), Web Development (Chrome Tools, Kurbernetes), Machine Learning (Introduction and Tensor Flow for Web), Firebase, Google Cloud Platform and of course, the newest products and updates Google has to offer for the next year.

Audience were not only given a chance to learn something by the end of the event, but a special raffle of Google Home Mini was done every end of each I/O Extended. A total of 5 lucky winners got to take home a google home mini throughout the series ;) (yes, that was pun intended ;)) Everyone loved the limited edition swags (Shirts and Lanyards for our early birds and special winners!)

And, who can forget the developer/dancer winners of the GDG Cebu Boom Boom Dance Craze! That’s one way to tell everyone that you just don’t write good code, you also can bring the house down with your great moves!

Even one of our speakers joined the dance party!

The Road to I/O Extended Visayas was definitely not easy but we are so happy that we got there successfully and with a full heart ❤ Thank you to all our speakers, awesome sponsors: University of San Carlos Talamban (Cebu), Siliman University (Dumaguete) and Philippine Science High School - Eastern Visayas Campus (Leyte) for the beautiful venues, our media sponsors Halo Halo Radio 105.1 and Cebu Daily News for the feature both in radio and print; and our PR Partner, PR Works for helping us spreading the word about I/O Extended Visayas.

Let’s not forget the amazing audience who have came from different cities/municipalities and traveled just to attend our event, you are the reason why we are doing this. And to our volunteers, we wouldn’t be able to pull this off without you guys ❤

We hope to see everyone again soon.

Thank you very much for your support.
