The meetup aims to help the participants learn about Machine Learning and TensorFlow, and how they could be useful in the world and in their respective projects. The free event was held last June 18, 2019 at The Company Cebu, IT Park from 7:00PM to 9:00PM. A whopping 100 students, developers and tech enthusiasts came to the event!

The first speaker of the event is Albert Padin, the Founder & CTO at Symph, a web and mobile design and development studio. He is also a Google Developer Expert for Google Cloud, and a Google Certified Design Sprint Master. He gave a keynote about Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Business and gave an overview about how AI works. In his talk, he pointed out that the foundation of AI is the quality and quantity of data.

Our second speaker is Neriah “BJ” De Guzman Ato, a Python Developer for Full Scale. He’s with the Python/C++ Developers Group of the company, also known as the Cool Stuff Group. He is also one of the lead organizers for PizzaPy Cebu, where they work to promote the Python Programming Language and its libraries and frameworks here in Cebu. BJ talked about Machine Learning with Computer Vision where he shared how they developed a project about getting statistics for basketball using computer vision.

For our last speaker, we have John Titus Jungao, the Team Lead for Data Science at UnitedHealth Group R&D. He recently finished his Masters in Data Science at the Asian Institute of Management. He gave a talk about Using Keras for Deep Learning. In his talk, fe first shared the background of deep learning and then introduced Keras, a high-level Python API used for building and training Deep Learning Models.

A raffle was also conducted where lucky participants received a limited edition Women Techmakers Cebu mug.❤

The event wouldn’t be made possible without our amazing partners.
