3 Best Websites to find Pro & Free Templates for your Portfolio
Do you want to build your first web portfolio but the templates you find for free on the internet are static and unattractive? Do you want a professional looking website but don’t have the money to pay someone to build it for you?
Don’t worry, here are some options where to find Professional templates and the best part: They are free!
👉🏼 You can adapt any of these templates to your profession and according to your goal.
1 . Github Open Source
Many developers share their free templates on Github, this allows them to improve their platform with contributions from other developers and constantly update the version (remember to clone the latest version to avoid errors in the deployment process).
- Brittany’s Chiang Portfolio: With a minimalist style and dark theme, if you want to highlight the tools used in your projects, this is a good option for you.
- DeveloperFolio: It is one of the most popular responsive portfolios, as it is constantly being updated. The animated GIFs and the switch-button that allows you to switch between dark and light theme live are some of the most interesting options of this template, in addition to its many options.
- MasterPortfolio: If you want to highlight more projects in your portfolio, this responsible template is for you. It contains multiple subsections to write your professional experience (volunteerships, internships, certifications, etc).

💡If you use any of these templates, don’t forget to give credit to the author! It is a way of thanking them for their work and avoiding plagiarism.
2 . Free-CSS
This is a website that collects free HTML and CSS coded templates. Here are some of my favorite, to find more visit Free-CSS.com.
- Funny Mera: Fun-friendly and colorfull design, ideal if you want to show only useful information. It includes a section for testimonials from your clients and fee options for your services, so it would come in handy if you are a freelancer.
- Unika Template: Elegant design to offer your services as a freelancer or company. With this template you will be able to show the level of your skills and the most interesting thing is that it allows you to filter your projects by categories.
- Spaceman Mashup: Stylish black and white space design, recommended if you want to make a good impression and get out of the ordinary. However, it offers you a wide range of options such as: write the documentation for up to 6 projects on the same platform and a special section that includes additional elements (buttons, icons, input forms, etc.) to customize your design.
3 . Envato Elements
This website is not free, however by subscribing you have a 7-day trial access with unlimited downloads. Therefore, I recommend that you first choose the templates of your interest and download them in advance.
- Kapena minimal: Picture-focused template, ideal if you want to highlight your images or graphics in your projects instead of lots of text. In addition, it gives you up to 6 pages with unique designs for your projects and a special section to share your blogs (a plus for Medium writers).
- Horizontal one-page Mee: Layout that looks like an authentic portfolio, with Horizontal displacement. It has a special section to publicize your blogs and even filter them by categories and publication date. Ideal for Medium writers who want to sell their personal brand.
❗ Once again, remember to credit the creators of the designs at the end of your website.
Finally, I hope I helped you! 😄
