There is news about a company name “” which claims that it has a trademark for the name META and facebook seized the META mark and name.

An Installation-art company called “” is filing a lawsuit against Facebook for trademark violation, alleging that Zuckerberg’s name change violated the smaller company’s established brand.

“” said in the press post on their website

On October 28, 2021, Facebook seized our META mark and name, which we put our blood, sweat, and tears into building for over twelve years.

Today, after eight months of trying to negotiate with Facebook in good faith to no avail, we were left with no choice but to file a lawsuit against them. The lawsuit alleges that Facebook infringed META’s federally registered trademarks and common law trademark rights, and engaged in egregious acts of unfair competition.

Facebook talks a big game about supporting creators, but the proof is in their actions. If they’re willing to blatantly seize our IP and use it in the same spaces we have operated in for more than a decade, we can’t imagine what’s coming when they further saturate our industry and dominate the “metaverse.”

“” holds a trademark for the name META but still has to fight against Meta (Facebook) in court. I think mostly Facebook will pay off the a bunch of money and fully acquire the name but who knows because Zuckerburg does have a pretty big legal team.

What do you think? What will happen to Meta? Which Meta will win the fight?

I Hope META wins the case against META and creates a great META product for its META users.

Cheers for META!!
