The Journey Of Data Scientist

I would like to share my humble opinion with you. I would like to share some free resources that can build you into a data scientist. So before starting with the skill you need to know about what is data science in reality. Is it your piece of cake or not then choose to build your carrier in data science.

Data science is not something that you think it’s my cup of tea don’t worry also not rocket science. So if you want to become a data scientist you just need to follow the below instructions.

My suggestion to all of you is don’t Join any paid classes because no one company is interested in Your paid certificate.

Now, why I would like to explain that Build your data science path because many influencers influence data science in bad manners like just to show you the big dreams like “ If you learn python, and a few statistics and some classification algorithm then you will be a data scientist”. But remember scientists have wast knowledge about the topic. So if you want to discover something then you need to know about how to get data first and where to find data.

Now, so you can understand that what I want to say to you. You can play with data, you can understand data, u can change the format, and you can handle data if you can do these all things then no one can stop you to become a data scientist.

So if you don’t know anything about data science then just need to follow the below step. Just complete free courses and Become the best, self-learned, and budget-friendly data scientist.

1. SQL: So now you can understand that the first need to become a data scientist or data engineer is SQL(Structured Query language). If you know SQL then you can easily understand some NoSQL tools and tools like a spark, Hadoop, and hive. To learn SQL in the best and budget-friendly way you have free resources and are more beneficent than paid sources. My first suggestion is this youtube channel and another one is khan academy’s SQL course. These both are free resources to get the best knowledge about SQL.
2. Excel: You have the basic knowledge of Excel and easily understand the data when you get it in excel or CSV format. In excel you can easily analyze data and also build a machine learning model. If you want to learn advanced Excel and also fundamentals of excel then you can watch Chandoo’s youtube channel.
3. Statistics: The main and powerful skill you need to become a data scientist, analyst, or data engineer is Statistics. Without knowledge of statistics, you are not a scientist. Because of all machine learning, Artificial intelligence, deep learning are worked on advanced statistics. Even you can not do exploratory data analysis. Without an understanding of statistics, you can not describe your chart, So it simply means you can not understand the data. So you just need to know about statistics and data. If you want to learn only statistics knowledge then you go to watch khan academy free course and I would like to suggest one of the best youtube channels name MarinStatsLectures-R Programming & Statistics who will explain Statistics with code in R programming language. And yes to learn regression analysis R is the best Tools. Because you get more libraries for statistical analysis.
4. Linear Algebra and Vector calculus: Now I bet you if you are here you know about NumPy but you may don’t know that Linear Algebra is Backend. Because you need to work with matrices, Your data table is converted into an array of matrices so you have the core knowledge of linear algebra and vector. In reality, your row is one of the vectors. So you have basic knowledge of linear algebra and vector calculus. For Linear algebra and vector, you can watch the best, and my favorite youtube channel 3Blue1Brown which is the best channel to learn with visualization.
5. Programming: I write programming because if you want to work with data and data is huge. So you need to analyze data using programming languages like python, R, Scala. If you have access to paid software Like SPSS by IBM, SAS, PowerBi, Tableau, and many more. You can do it but some programming skill is required. If you are good at programming then you can easily visualize data so one of the biggest topics covered here. So if you want to learn programming with data science, including basic m machine learning and deep learning then must watch codebasics youtube channel. From Dhaval Patel’s codebasics youtube channel you get real-time knowledge about data. you can learn Pandas and NumPy also.
6. Domain Knowledge or Business strategy: If you want to get business knowledge then you need to take more time. Because I started my journey with field marketing and then also one year worked with industries in Rajkot cities. So I learned the best strategy from my boss who is the best Industrialist in Rajkot. So my suggestion for you is to read Newspapers like Economics times and watch business-related news. Yes, you can watch the stock market. Because one of the best topics in data science is time series analysis is used to forecast stock prices.

Now as a fresher this knowledge is too much for you. You just need to more practice. For data science practice kaggle is the best website you can get data and also code.
