Apple offers Apple users a rather interesting utility to quickly check if their device is covered under warranty or if they can verify the date of purchase. So if you’re ever stumped about whether yours is still covered under warranty, there’s nothing easier than checking for yourself. Simply go to this website, enter the serial number of your Apple AirPods and confirm your choice.

The verification website will instantly show you all the information you need, whether you can verify the date of purchase of the product or whether you’re still covered by phone technical support or the repair and service warranty. In this respect, however, it is essential to note that this is not a standard statutory warranty but a warranty directly from Apple.

Apple offers one year of coverage for its products. If anything happens to your device during this time, you can take it to any authorised repairer. However, if Apple’s coverage no longer covers you, but the traditional two-year warranty does, you can only contact a specific dealer if you need to.

Sometimes, though, the verification web app may not tell you anything at all — just that you can’t verify the date of purchase. What does this mean, and what should I do next? This problem is most familiar with AirPods.

The date of purchase has not been verified

Let’s cut to the chase, or what to do if the web tool says, “Date of purchase not verified”. You don’t need to worry about your device if you encounter this message. There are several tips. First, you should double-check that you have entered the correct serial number.

So, first of all, double-check it. If the problem persists and your Apple product is still relatively fresh, you can wait a little longer to see if the situation changes after a while. Some Apple experts also recommend trying the web tool in an incognito window.

That’s because that way, the cache and cookies can’t be confused with the Apple web interface. If the date of purchase still can’t be verified, in the worst case, it’s also possible that these are fake AirPods or so-called “fakes”.

If you bought them second-hand or from a not-so-trusted e-shop and can’t verify a valid purchase date, you may have been a victim. On the other hand, this may not be the case at all. After all, this is why the website offers the Update Purchase Date option, which is supposed to solve all these problems in a jiffy.

In this case, you just need to take your receipt from the purchase, enter a specific date in the web app and confirm your choice. Suddenly, the output from the site should change significantly, letting you know if you’re still covered under warranty. You can see the whole process in the gallery attached above.

So, as we mentioned above, if you can’t verify a valid purchase date, you don’t have the slightest reason to panic. After all, the web tool is directly equipped for such cases, so you just need to take your receipt and enter the relevant date yourself. In no time, the website will update and show you the specific information.
