It was the year 2020, in the midst of stormy Coronavirus clouds, you’d either be hearing someone losing their jobs and going to lose their jobs.

My friends & I had weekly “meetups” on Zoom, to weather the storm of solitary & the fight the quarantine-loneliness bug.

However, my friend (let’s call him Jimmy), was almost non-existent to the meetups, claiming that he was busier than ever, since business was booming.

Amidst of the pandemic filled chaos, what on earth was Jimmy so busy with? Weren’t we all just “stuck at home”?

Unsurprisingly enough, Jimmy is a software engineer for a Big Tech company that thrived during the pandemic.

As revenues skyrocket, his career sailed along with promotions, big bonuses and wonderful WFH perks.

Jealously, I went on a research frenzy with an enigma variation of Google, Reddit, Stack Overflow, forums, YouTube videos.

I came to the conclusion, I could learn programming from an online bootcamp from Udemy.

I had to make a decision to either bite the bullet & go back to university or take a less conventional route via a bootcamp.

Looking back, I’m surprised at the lack thereof good articles comparing bootcamps vs CS degrees.
