Have often have you scrolled through the Tableau public gallery, to see the most fascinating visualizations and yearned to recreate them. One such viz chart I’ve seen multiple times below:

This is called a Hub & Spoke chart. This chart is used to plot points, specifically an origin and a destination point or locations on a map, along with a line joining the two. These charts are used to visualize connecting flights routes, migration patterns, logistics, route tracking as well as in the healthcare domain where it could be the most beneficial.

Given how this could be useful in dashboarding, I’ve outlined below as to how can it be built in Tableau –
