As a fellow believer of the acceleration of technology and fan of esteemed futurist Ray Kurzweil, I will be writing a 4-part series on his predictions on GNR (Genetics, Nanotechnology, and Robotics) and how they stand today. This is part 4 of 4, enjoy!

Of the 3 technological revolutions that could bring on the Singularity, GNR. The R, Robotics, is by far the most profound. A convergence between code and metal that will inherently outperform its predecessors.

What we’ve seen from sci-fi movies such as The Matrix, I, Robot, and Ex Machina is the embodiment of artificial intelligence (AI) if not dealt with carefully, could hurt as much as it can help, or worse. There’s often a dystopian tone placed on a robotic future, but it has yet to be proven how this future will come about. In fact, no one knows, hence The Singularity.
