Tech companies like to keep their new products behind closed doors until they are released. But apart from Apple and Samsung, all the other firms seem to be unable to make this happen. Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are arguably the most leaked smartphones in history. They were leaked so extensively, that people knew almost all the things about what to expect from the phones a few months before the release. After failing to keep the lid down on their new phone spectacularly, Google started doing the exact opposite from the Pixel 4 lineup.

Google started to drop hints about their upcoming phone months before, as it was easier than keeping leaks out and it simultaneously build more hype around the device. And they were doing it in the last few years and barely had any surprises in Google hardware events in the recent past. In this year’s I/O they have already announced the new Pixel 7 and 7 Pro alongside an upcoming Pixel tablet in 2023! So basically Google seems to keep any surprises out by going further on releases as away as next year.
