Data since is a very competitive field and it is becoming harder to land a job due to the large number of job seekers. The most difficult part of the job searching process step is getting noticed especially if you are fresher and have no prior industrial experience.

Data Science is not about just having an educational degree in it, there is a wide spectrum of educational backgrounds that you can have to get into this field. The most common thing is to have computational tools you can apply to different problems and to have a theoretical understanding of the concepts that these tools are based on. In addition to this be able to showcase the ability to use them in different problems on your portfolio.

This article is a summary of an interview made by Luke Barousse with John Boudreaux who is a data scientist & hiring manager. In this interview, he mentioned three strategies to attract the attention of recruiters and to stand out as fresh data science.

He started the interview with this inspiring and important statement which I quote from him:

Having a portfolio or personal website that shows this can change the amount of time spent from 1 minute to 5 minutes. It says also whether a person will be a good fit for an interview or not.
