OrangeHRM Inc. is a computer software company founded in 2005 by well-known Mr.Sujee Saparamadu. The company is mainly into providing HRIS software solutions, in order to make your daily HR activities more efficient and effective. OrangeHRM is a company based in the USA where they have around 150+ employees working for this company. Recently OrangeHRM re-branded its main products as OrangeHRM Advanced and OrangeHRM Starter, which was previously known as OrangeHRM Enterprise & OrangeHRM Open-source.

Let’s move into the main focus now. In this article, I will be mainly focusing on their Enterprise version — Performance goal feature, which is now known as Advanced. So, let’s now move into their performance goal feature which will be really helpful for a company, who’s looking for an HRIS solution to run their HR activities smoothly.

OrangeHRM Performance goal feature helps a company to monitor their employee goals smoothly during this Covid-19 situation, as remote working has encouraged employees to work from home rather than being present at the office. Since most of the employees are now working from home, it will be really hard for their supervisors to monitor their team member’s performances, remotely. Therefore, the OrangeHRM performance goal feature will be really helpful for a company who’s looking for a distance employee performance monitoring feature for their company.

Hold on: There are so many HRIS software companies in the world that provide this feature. But why am I specifically writing about OrangeHRM? Let’s now see.. why OrangeHRM performance goal is so special compared to the other HRIS software.

Performance Goal UI

OrangeHRM Goals feature is visible under the performance module. In the performance module drop-down, there are three main sections. They are as,

  1. Goals
  2. Employee Trackers
  3. Appraisals

If you look at their performance goal feature, you will find it really attractive mainly because of the colors they have used. As you can see, it is really convenient for anyone to use it and it is easily understandable even for a fresher how to add their goals to this list. Basically, they have a nice presentation for the goals as all, pending, in progress, archived, not archived, and on hold. This feature also categorizes the goals based on its’ level ( Individual ), the owner, due date, priority, and its’ status. If you look at the color tones they have used for the goal priority, you will be able to see that the most important ones will be in red and the least important ones will be in green color. Also, If your goal is mid-level important, it will be in yellow color. Just like the traffic light colors. Looks attractive right? Great!. Now let’s dive deeper.

The toggle toolbar of the OrangeHRM performance goal feature, helps you to add images, insert links, edit images, add numbers, bullets, and change fronts based on your requirement. Also, There is a huge space that helps you to broadly define your goal

In this feature, a supervisor or the main evaluator has the ability to assign an employee/employees’ certain goals under their name. The best thing about this feature is, you can add the completion level up to 120%. Imagine you have completed certain targets more than what was assigned to you. Then obviously it would be something beyond 100%.

The user also can edit their targets based on the amount of completion by simply clicking the plus icon. Also, this helps users the ability to add sub-goals under the main goal. The evaluators and supervisors can export the employee goals in PDF or CSV in order to do run the employee evaluation process smoothly and offer necessary increments and promotions to the employees on time.

7.1 Version ( Old )
7.2 Version (New )

The company also has reduced its subparts under goals, where the things that were under the goals section are now under the goals sub-sections. It has now been really convenient to handle, rather than moving from one tab to another.
