I believe that I have successfully boiled down the analysis of what makes a video game fun to four key elements.
For this piece, I started my research by scanning the mind of a 30-year veteran gamer whose console experience spans between the original NES to PS 4, as well as online and mobile gaming — my own.
I then continued with some online research and then asked for the help of my Twitter audience.

I am mainly talking about the gaming industry, but some of these elements also are a factor in other games, such as board games and card games.
There may be other cool or interesting aspects of a game, but according to my research these are the four make or break points.
