The best Wordle opener is ORATE
And here’s why
Like the rest of the world, it seems, I’ve become obsessed with Wordle.
If you’re among the lucky few who haven’t yet succumbed to its addictive wiles, Wordle’s basically what you’d expect if Mastermind and Boggle had a baby.
Once a day, Josh, the Brooklyn-based mastermind behind Wordle, presents the world with a blank slate that looks like this:
The goal of the game is simple. Guess the word Josh is thinking. (Side note: what makes this so addictive, in my opinion, is everyone, everywhere in the world, gets the same target word each day. You’re playing with—or against—the entire planet. It’s genius).
The rules are simple too:
- You get six guesses
- A guess must be a valid five-letter word
- Letters can be repeated
After each guess, the letters in the chosen word turn different colors: green if a correct letter is in the correct spot, yellow if a correct letter is somewhere else in the target word, and black if that letter is not in the target at all.
