Objective: making an essential main menu

The solid skeleton of the main menu is, to me, made of:

  1. A good looking background
  2. The title
  3. Menu buttons
  4. Background Music
  5. A catchy detail

You can follow these steps, changing the source of the assets, and you’ll have a quick template for your main menu.

Background Image

I started by creating a new Image which brought automatically a canvas to the scene. I chose my background as the source image and stretch as the anchor preset. This one is cool: top, bottom, left and right values represent the distance from the screen borders, so choosing 0 will stretch the image to cover the whole screen without having to know the actual size.

As always, I chose the Scale With Screen Size option in the Canvas Scaler component, to fit all screen sizes and aspects.
