Windows 11 Receives A Release Date, But Not So Fast

You still have to meet the hardware requirements and Windows Insiders can prove it

Windows 11 Release Date

Microsoft has finally announced a release date for Windows 11, October 5, 2021. Windows 11 will be available as a free upgrade for all eligible Windows 10 PCs as well on newly purchased hardware with Windows 11 pre-loaded.

As with many of Microsoft’s upgrades, it will be rolled out in phases with new, eligible devices being offered the upgrade first, followed by older eligible PCs receiving the offer in the weeks and months following the initial release date.

Microsoft expects that all eligible devices will be offered the free upgrade to Windows 11 by the middle of 2022. Of course, if things go as they have with previous upgrades, you should be able to manually upgrade after the release date by going to the Windows media creation tool website and installing it.

Even though Windows 11 will be released on October 5th, not all features will be available on that day. For example, Microsoft is still working with Amazon and Intel to bring Android apps to Windows 11.
