6K Walk for Water — Story you Should Know!!
For most of us getting water is a 6 second walk to water cooler at work.
But that’s not how it is in sub-Saharan Africa. There people don’t have access to an improved water source.Moms and daughters walk their 6K barefoot or in rubber sandals to collect water from polluted rivers and ponds.
More than 3 million children and nearly 14 million women walk more than 30 minutes to collect water. And they often make that trip more than once a day!
This walk is not just a physical strain, but also greatly impacts the productivity as this is the time Cheru or Grace could have spent at school.
Look at the smile on Cheru’s face thanks to World Vision.
World Vision is working hard in this field and we have an opportunity to contribute.
I’ve created below page because I think we all want to make a difference. Hope everyone gets inspired by the work of World Vision Australia and supports them by raising money as part of my participation in Global 6K For Water.
