Habemus scribere vivere…

Writing makes an
imaginary nest in
the world’s wilderness;
a pause in the chaos
where a restless mind
finds a moment’s rest.
We go there to be
at peace with our selves.
It may be created from
any found materials:
a dream image, a leaf,
a crow’s caw, a cat’s paw,
a borrowed line,
a random observation,
a snatch of conversation.
It becomes the
fictive home where,
for an instant,
we can cease to roam.
A haven of repose
no one else knows.
A room where we
can sit, sigh, and
escape the I,
outside of time,
free to simply be.
