Don’t inflate your own importance.
The world is not yours to remake.
Things and events dwarf your power.
Bad shit happens that you can’t control.
Children gasp and cry on border streets.
Mental Midgets mangle repulsive tweets.
You can only react with integrity, dignity,
honor, and personal responsibility.
Let the cosmic chips fall as they may,
do your best to be honest in your day.
The Kingdom of Heaven is within you.
Only you can turn its key with your human hand.
Whining and lamenting only demean
the tiny portion of time you are given.
Practice detached compassion.
Feel the pain. Empathize. Take what action you can.
Life will sometimes snarl and attack,
beat you down and kick your ass:
Stand it like a Man. And, give some back.
