My Shadows

Daniel Roxas
Jul 25, 2017 · 1 min read

There’s a monster in my box

Hiding in silence

As sly as fox

As it waits for the sirens

Waiting to be set free

But I locked him in

For the moment he flees

I’ll be empty from within

For he’s my twin

Unseen by the naked eyes

Until he wins

And I stop living a lie

For when he is chained

I am incomplete

Do I play the game?

Or just accept my defeat?
