Seaside

It’s easy
to shed tears
by the ocean,
to drop it all,
uninhibited,
vanity-free,
aught and ought
just so-so
— to look hard
at naught;
see problems
in proportion;
view without vertigo
horizontal
tides of times,
wave-lullabied:
equatorial
to pointless perspective,
in latitude
of lassitude —
easy to face
— without fight
or flight,
fear or fanfare —
truth, even
— just to be,
by the sea —
