The world
speaks a language
beyond translation,
alluring and arcane,
safe in its secrecy
calling us all.

We hear what
we want to hear,
believe what
we choose.

Call that truth.

We act
as we will,
but always
performing,
lines delivered
certain in
uncertainty.

The stories
of our lives
told in words
we can’t know,
telling us
where to go,
making the real
what we wish,
what we steal,
every desire
we imagine,
ours to feel.
