“You cannot buy the revolution. You cannot make the revolution.
You can only be the revolution. It is in your spirit, or it is nowhere.”

― Ursula K. Le Guin, The Dispossessed

Octobers begin in dreams,
end in nightmares of blood.
Revolutions go terribly awry
when leaders become supreme,
proud celebrities of power.
To make a revolution really real
keep it assiduously anonymous.
Lenin, Trotsky, Stalin,
remade revolution as reality TV,
a Siberian version of Survivor.
The only purely certain place
a true revolution can ever be
is in the lonely heart of we,
frangible, but ferocious and free.
