That Sinking Feeling
Raddled eyes gaze upon ruin.
Too much loss costs dearly.
Good fights last as long as good.
To war on ignorance is exhausting.
The flood tide of stupidity drowns
those who swim against the current.
They flail and sink before the dumb,
inundated by waves of endless idiocy,
tsunamis of impervious imbecility.
The fashionably cruel rule the beach.
Expect no help from ruthless lifeguards.
The lost cause of reason
slips beneath the surface,
well beyond rescue,
no longer in season.
