The News At Five AM

Monsters shake their willies and shriek.
A war! A war! Oh yes please more!
Once upon this time a big bomb went bang.
A city vanished in an eye’s blank blink.
Wear dark glasses when looking at the sun.
The sun that is brighter than a thousand
may well melt your knowing neurons.
Meanwhile, the wankers wail and threaten.
Frustrated multitudes pretend the day away,
ants clambering upon ants who have no say.
Peeps eat their oatmeal and go to work,
hoping the dastardly deed won’t be done,
knowing in their fearful, frosted souls
that some curtains are finally final.
Not a wholesome way to start the day.
