2022 Recap: A year full of exciting partnerships and product news!
2022 was a challenging year for the Web3 community. Despite the various events happening in the Web3 space, Gemie team worked hard to keep building. A massive thank you to our amazing community for their support throughout the past year — Gemie wouldn’t have come this far without you! Today, we’d like to reflect on the important events and milestones we have achieved in the past year.
Partnerships with Asian celebrities, artists & content creators
Our first official Gemstar Partnership was with Asian Music Superstar Hanjin Tan. He is a talented musician and Web3 advocate, also the first artist in the world to drop a Chinese music NFT — what a delight to have Hanjin onboard with us! Next, we announced partnerships with K-POP groups P1Harmony and Cherry Bullet, as our official Gemstars. Another exciting collab is with Second Floor Rear — we have built a customized Gemie room for the cool rock band. Earlier In New York, Fung Bros also did a shout out for us in one of their videos.
Collabs with Web3 projects
In 2022, Gemie has collaborated with several Web3 projects — including polinate_io, arcadedotinc, kpop_ctzen, REDNFT_, PlanetSlyNFT, Monkey Kingdom and so much more.
Towards the end of the year we also held our first online-to-offline exhibition (enter here) with Monkey Kingdom. The exhibition was held both on the Gemie metaverse and physically in Shibuya, Tokyo.
To celebrate the World Cup, we partnered up with Qatar World Cup Digital Twin and built a Gemie Stadium for this special occasion.
In December, we announced the collaboration with Citypop TOKYO NFT, Asobisystem to host a virtual event ‘Metaverse Got Talent’ in 2023. Stay tuned for the details!
Launch of GEM token on Kucoin
In October, we have launched Gemie’s native token GEM and had it listed on Kucoin. To celebrate our token launch, we have built & designed ‘Kucoin Building’ in the Gemie Metaverse.
Gemie Alpha Launch
In September, Gemie Alpha Launch took place. It’s an expansion of the demo room launched earlier this year. Initially, we were focusing on building Gemie rooms as NFTs, accessible by NFT holders. Later, we listened to our community and worked on enabling everyone in our community to experience the Gemie metaverse, no matter they have the NFT or not. As a result, we expanded our metaverse for the Gemie Alpha Launch. Users are able to walk around the center of our metaverse — Town Square as an upgraded avatar with friends, complete quests, and earn rewards. Users also get to customize their own avatars with ever-updating wearables and Gemie room with their own NFTs. There are also mini games, daily check-ins and quests for users to participate and win rewards.
