The Gen EDGE Community is a group within the Broadcom Communities platform where Gen™ stakeholders stay informed about all things related to Gen and connect with other users. This blog will explain how you can take full advantage of being a member of the Gen EDGE Community.

What will I find on the Gen EDGE Community?

The Gen EDGE Community is the home base for all your Gen information. You will find:

  • Product News like enhancements, digital badges, partner opportunities, and service updates.
  • Events like roadmap webinars and product training.
  • Helpful Links to support, documentation, training, and install or maintenance resources.
  • Posts from the product team, like invitations for beta testing and demos, roadmap plans, monthly summary of knowledge articles, and links to informational blogs or news articles.
  • Discussion threads from users seeking advice and sharing best practices.

Are there email notifications about all this stuff?

Yes! Members of the Gen EDGE Community can adjust notification settings. I recommend a “daily digest”.

How to edit your notification settings:

  1. Make sure you have logged into the Broadcom Community, and are a member of the Gen EDGE Community.
  2. At the top of the Gen EDGE Community, click “Settings”.
  3. Click “Manage Notifications”.

How do I talk to other Gen users in the community?

  • The best way to start a conversation is by adding a discussion thread. This will be visible to everyone in the Gen EDGE Community.
  • On the community home page, go to “Threads” and click “Start New Thread”.
  • Similarly, you can reply to someone else’s discussion thread.
  • You can also go to someone’s profile to “Send Message”. This is a good option if you are looking for a one-on-one conversation.
