Breaking News: The first edition of the GSIOP protocol is officially released
On February 20, 2019, Singapore time, Genaro Network, the world’s first smart data ecosystem with a Dual-Strata Architecture, integrating a public blockchain with decentralized storage officially released the first version of the GSIOP protocol. This is not only the product of nearly a year hard work of the Genaro entire team of engineers, but it also marks Genaro’s new milestone in the practical application of cross-chain technology.
About GSIOP
The Genaro IO Streaming Protocol (GSIOP), is a cross-chain protocol that uses encrypted storage as a medium. The Genaro Streaming Protocol is designed to achieve multi-faceted file changes while maintaining privacy via encrypted storage. It is designed with keeping in mind that the information stored in the DApp needs to be private (i.e., not public), that is also what Genaro has always believed. In the first version, GSIOP introduces the first type of application by modifying certain values, an encrypted side chain system.
In the first edition of this release, it includes not only the theoretical analysis of the protocol, the technical implementation, the background of the cross-chain technology, the specific implementation, the protocol/interface standards, but also the engineering examples, which are designed to work with industry peers on technological exchange and exploration.
About cross-chain technology
Early cross-chain technology is more concerned with asset transfer, and existing projects are more concerned with the shift of chain status. Current cross-chain technologies can be roughly classified into four types according to their lock verification methods: Notary schemes, Sidechains/relays, Hash-locking, and Distributed private key control.
Due to the immature technology, despite the fact that cross-chain technology is relatively well known to the public, there are still few projects that are generally recognized and widely adopted by the community. The significant amount of projects and applications that claim to deploy cross-chain sidechains solution have not been implemented. However, cross-chain technology is still being considered as a promising area, as cross-chain is expected to bring a qualitative leap to the existing blockchain ecosystem. Catching the wave of cross-chain technology development, Genaro developed the GSIOP protocol based on the characteristics of the storage network, using the hybrid cross-chain mode of SPV verification + HTLC main chain locking, aiming to build a cross-chain platform that docks the storage demand blockchain. The block header is stored in a storage network with a large amount of space, and the Genaro blockchain can perform extremely fast verification of cross-chain transactions, which not only makes the resources of the storage space contributors use effectively, but also alleviates the blockchain of the whole node, mitigating the storage pressure caused by volume expansion.
In this release, the blueprint for the GSIOP protocol has been completed, and more tests will be carried out later, then it will gradually be applied to Genaro’s main network G.A.O (Genaro Alpha One), which was launched in December last year.
