My Transition Isn’t “Easier” Because I’m Intersex
When my father finally accepted that I was trans, he told me that when I was born, the doctors weren’t quite sure what to call me.
I was sixteen when I realized I was trans, but I was almost eighteen when I finally came out to my parents. “So you’re a tomboy,” they said. They reluctantly let me buy jeans from the guys’ section of American Eagle, though my mom kept bringing me girl’s jeans to try on, and huffing indignantly when I refused.

Three Questions for Tennessee Lawmakers Considering Anti-Trans Student Bills
Another week brings another opportunity for legislators to advance harmful anti-transgender bills. This week, lawmakers in Tennessee will…
be considering a pair of bills that target transgender students. ¶
These measures take aim at vulnerable transgender young people and raise serious questions about the privacy and bodily autonomy of students across the country.
